Cave Survey Data

Print-friendlyPrint-friendly

Survey data for the caves of Thailand is being compiled in Walls. As of 3 February 2012 the project has over 123 km of survey centre-line data. An archive of the Walls project with all the cave survey data is available for download here.

55 km of the survey data has been acquired by the Shepton Mallet Caving Club between 2000 and 2012. The rest of the surveys are by Dean Smart and his colleagues (1993-2003 - 23.1 km), the Australian expeditions to Mae Hong Son (1986-1990 - 13.3 km with thanks to John Dunkley and John Brush), Canberra Speleological Society (1997-2004 - 12.4 km), Orpheus Caving Club (2004 - 4.2 km with thanks to Simon Brooks) and the Thailand Karst Hydrologic Project (1983-1984 - 2.8 km).

The survey notes are in the process of been archived digitally by being scanned to PDF files. Back up files of the Walls database and scanned survey notes are regularly deposited with the Shepton Mallet Caving Club in the UK.

I would be interested in receiving ANY cave survey notes to add to the database.
