• Wat Phra That Doi Din Kiu Caves - Mentioned in Caves of Thailand, various Thailand guidebooks and shown on tourist maps, but not looked for.
• Ban Mae Kasa - There is a large limestone cliff near the village which contains Tham Mae Usa, Wat Khao Tham and Mae Kasa waterfall. This cliff has not been investigated, either at its base or on top.
Mae Kasa Waterfall - Investigate warm spring. Draughting hole was noted amongst boulders here. Investigate dry gorge and the valley upstream.
Tham Nang Manora area -Investigate the other limestone towers. The map and satellite images appear to show that one of the towers is hollow. MapMagic CD-ROM gives 47Q 0464842 1855178.
Tham Lot - Explore this large river cave in the refugee camp to the north of Mae Ramat.
• Umphang District
Tham Takobi - A tight rift in the high level passage at the end of Southern High Level was not pushed to a conclusion. Southern Doline link to upstream Streamway has only had one group through it and has not been surveyed. Monk's Cave area has unsurveyed side passages and the whole area needs resurveying.
Pothole - has not been surveyed.
Swallet Cave - has not been surveyed.
Through Cave - has not been surveyed.
Tham Takobi Area - between Tham Takobi and the Mae Nam Mae Khlong gorge at Tham Phawoe there are 4km of hills at around 600m altitude running north-west to south-east which have not been explored.
Tham Phawoe - entrance is high in a cliff, but there may be other caves nearby.
Tham Mutalu - 20m pitch near the second entrance is undescended. 7m pitch off main passage (this is the route the stream takes) is undescended. Beware of bad air.
Tham Mutulu area - Rafting map shows several caves beside the Mae Nam Mae Khlong about 1 km downstream of the ranger station half way to Tee Lor Su. The track to Tee Lor Su is close to the river at this point.
Tham Glab Area - Explore and survey entrances near Bamboo Bridge. Push upstream in large passage to stream sink. Explore and survey G5.
Tan Sa Na Area - Go downstream from Tan Sa Na waterfall and look up side valley to the north for other resurgences. Look in more detail at the sinks and shafts found in the dolines to the north and west of Tham Tan Sa Na as the examination of some of these was only cursory. Explore valleys in the eastern edge of the massif for resurgences.
Tham Loe Pu - Check downstream sump in Upper Cave as this may open in low water conditions. Streamway not surveyed up towards the main sink or downstream towards Upper Cave. Many side and linking passages need to be surveyed. Walk the north side of the upstream valley looking for fossil caves.
Between Umphang and Ban Palatha - Check and survey the small caves P1 to P4. P3 had a small passage leading from the entrance chamber. Attempt to get into the large depressions to the west of the road. Try to find route to Bat Caves on the Mae Khlong. Investigate further the Huai Phoe Walu valley The water in this stream was the hardest water found in Thailand, but it's source has not been found.
Beyond Ban Klo Tho - Take a handline and descend the slope in cave C1 just south of Ban Klo Tho. A large doline with a jungle filled valley in the bottom, to the east of the road just before the turning to Ban Chi Cho Chi, was walked into in 2002. This valley may repay investigation. Investigate the area of the sink beside the track and the limestone hills to the north of the track to Ban Chi Cho Chi.
