Ban Mae Kasa
Length: 20m VR: 2m
A new two lane metalled road leads to a cliff with a tufa waterfall which was dry in February 2002. Climbing above the waterfall you reach a small spring with warm water which is captured by a leat. Above this is a short, shallow gorge in limestone with leads to a wide valley with fields. The cave is at the lower end of the gorge. This area needs to be looked at in more detail

This tourist attraction is well sign posted. Turn off the road between Mae Sot and Mae Ramat towards Ban Mae Kasa. Drive though the village and take the road that heads towards the cliffs. The water is 73°C, hot enough to cook eggs.

Bam Mae Kasa
Length: 1,019m VR: 88m
Other names: Tham Mae Kasa, Tham Mae Gasa
This has been recently developed as a tourist cave (300 baht per party) for a 1.5 hr tour of large chambers and passages. Park at the well sign posted Mae Kasa Hot Springs were a guide can be found to take you to the cave. There are over 850 steps to ascend to entrance, but the cave is impressive. A series of large chambers descend steeply to a large passage which leads to a pool of water where the tour stops. Wading the shallow pool gices access to around 100m of muddy passage that eventually chokes.

This is the resurgence for a large river just upstream from the Tan Sa Na waterfall. The cave is mainly swimming and has been explored to sump after 300m of large passage. Tham Tan Sa Na is almost certainly the resurgence for the A3 stream as it is at the same altitude and the river is the same milky white colour.
