In April 2012 a team of five from Ban's Technical Diving drove north from Ko Tao to investigate some springs and flooded caves in Loei region. A couple of blog posts describe what they discovered.
Thai caving legend John Spies, of Cave Lodge fame, has had a selection of his photos of caves in Mae Hong Son (plus one cave in Kanchanburi) published online by the British media.
Volumes 7 and 8 of the Caves of Thailand guidebook series have been published. Volume 7 covers Phetchabun province in the lower north region while Volume 8 includes the caves found in the tourist destinations of Phuket and Phang Nga in southern Thailand.
The Caves of Phetchabun has 126 caves and other sites of speleological interest. These caves include the third longest cave in Thailnd, the 10.4 km long Tham Yai Nam Nao and the 133 m deep Tham Phaya Naak, both of which are in the Nam Nao National Park.
